The number 1 thing that leaders should do for effective team management is to build trust.

#2 When people trust each other, then they have meaningful discussions and fight out the discussions constructively.
#3 When people come to understanding, they become committed. And when they are committed they would want to be accountable as they want to remembered for that meaning generated.
On the contrary, if you don’t have mutual trust, then
#1 the other person will not speak up (you may have consensus by default–> which means no commitment even after consensus)
#2 you will not listen
